Prior to joining the German Marshall Fund, Thomas Kleine-Brockhoff served as an advisor to the former President of Germany, Joachim Gauck. From 2013-17, he oversaw policy planning and speechwriting for the President. Before that he spent many years in the U.S., including serving as the Washington bureau chief of DIE ZEIT.

Topic

Together with Thomas Kleine-Brockhoff we will discuss his new book "Die Welt braucht den Westen". His call for a reset of the liberal order is a counterpoint to the polyphonic choir of those who call for the end of the West and the liberal international order.

Regarding the future of the liberal international order, according to the author, friends of the free world should strive to revive the current order based on the principle of robust liberalism.
