There were differences of opinion on such matters as the perception of the role of NATO, regional conflicts in the Middle East, and <distinct> values stemming from Russia’s large territorial size and national and religious diversity.
Pushkov was critical of the notion that the Western societal model should now be transferred Russia. While several participants agreed that such transmission served no purpose, they nonetheless stressed the importance of adhering to civil rights standards.
