DGAP’s Research Institute regularly brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in foreign affairs. On May 7, two days ahead of Europe Day on May 9, we will look at the future of European security amid growing international disorder. With wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and an increasingly erratic US foreign policy, European leaders are struggling to come up with solutions – a stronger European pillar in NATO, common defense procurement, and political structures that underpin a robust security architecture. There are calls for Germany to take a more active role in leading a coalition of states willing to further advance European security. Together with our international guests, we will discuss how Berlin can work with its allies toward a European security order ready for the challenges of the 2030s.
