Speakers:
Michael Kimmage, Professor of History, The Catholic University of America; Former Member of the Office of Policy Planning, US Department of State
Thomas Kleine-Brockhoff, Director, DGAP
Rachel Tausendfreund, Senior Research Fellow, US and Transatlantic Relations, DGAP
Chair: Jan Stöckmann, Head of the Director’s Office, DGAP
Every Thursday morning, DGAP’s Research Institute brings together experts and high-level guests to discuss the latest developments in foreign affairs. In the run-up to the US presidential election in November, we will explore how the results will likely impact US foreign policy. In particular, we will look at American support for Ukraine and the “victory plan” President Zelensky presented in September. Yet, we will also talk more broadly about transatlantic relationships and the challenges expected in the post-Biden era.
