Joseph Sax, a former associate fellow in DGAP’s Middle East and North Africa Program, is a researcher at Control Risks, a specialist risk consultancy. There, he provides political, security, and operational risk analysis on the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on Jordan, Yemen, and Iraq. Sax has worked on bespoke consulting projects for private, non-profit, and government clients across a range of sectors, including oil and gas, healthcare, mining, finance, power, shipping, and hospitality.

Sax graduated from Tufts University in 2015 and has been based in Dubai ever since. During his studies, he conducted research trips to Oman and Turkey while studying abroad in Jordan.
