Sebastian Gräfe has been an associate fellow of the DGAP since January 2015, focusing on issues related to civil and military means for conflict prevention and resolution. He works as a research associate at the German Centre for Civil Military Cooperation (ZentrZMZBw). He previously worked as an information analyst with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. Prior to that assignment, he was program director for Foreign and Security Policy and Transatlantic Issues at the Washington D.C. office of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung and a parliamentary assistant at the European Parliament in Brussels. In 2002–03, he was a fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation’s Post-Graduate Program in International Affairs (Stiftungskolleg). Born in Germany, he holds a Master of Arts in political science, economics, and ethnology from Leipzig University.
