Franco-German Future Dialogue

The overall success of Franco-German reconcilliation has led to a seemingly paradoxical result: that it is more and more difficult to convey the vital importance of actively fostering bilateral relations. This is particularly true for younger generations.

The resources that Germany and France have built up in the political and social spheres over the past few decades continue to be indispensable. But these common achievements are not guaranteed in long-term. They must be actively cultivated and supported.

The DGAP and the Institut français des relations internationales (Ifri) thus decided to promote exchange between the younger generations of both countries. The project is undertaken in collaboration with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The Franco-German Future Dialogue gives recent university graduates, doctoral candidates, and young professionals the opportunity to discuss a range of pressing German, French, and European policy issues with experts and provides them with a valuable network for the future.
