Milan Nič joined the DGAP on April 1, 2017 as senior fellow in the Robert Bosch Center for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. A specialist in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, Mr Nič has expertise in matters relating to the Visegrad Group (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia). He also works on questions of EU integration, European security policy, and EU and NATO enlargement, among other topics.

Nič previously headed the Europe program at the GLOBSEC Policy Institute in Bratislava, Slovakia and was managing director of its predecessor institution, the Central European Policy Institute (CEPI). From 2010 to 2012 he was senior adviser to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Slovakia and previously served as an advisor to the High Representative/EU Special Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nič states: “I am honored to join the DGAP’s distinguished team at such a critical period for Europe’s future. As the achievements of recent EU enlargements are at stake, strategic dialogue between Berlin and Central Europe’s capitals is still underdeveloped. This also presents a challenge for think tanks.”
