Impact & Innovation Lab

To meet the demands of a changing political environment, think tanks must develop new approaches to analyzing, advising, and communicating international policy. Resources and knowledge from all sectors of society must be brought together to develop viable policy solutions to global challenges. With this in mind, we launched the Impact & Innovation Lab in 2017 to share ideas and foster innovation in the think tank landscape.



Our mission

The Impact & Innovation Lab is a learning and experimentation space for new approaches to policy consulting and advocacy. We advise think tankers on how to develop their working methods in a co-creative, people-centered, and impact-oriented way. We support the DGAP in organizational, product and staff development. In doing so, we are guided by the question: What skills, processes and products do we need to create added value in the democratic political process?



Our activities

We combine foreign policy expertise with process competence and creative methods in order to provide the best possible support for those responsible in policy, business and civil society in finding impact-oriented solutions. To this end, we initiate pilot projects, moderate workshops and design processes in which people can contribute their ideas and new things can emerge. Our work is inspired by design thinking, art of hosting, systemic organizational development, art, video games, intercultural and scientific communication, among others.
