An optional 30-minute networking session will immediately follow as of 10:00 a.m.

At the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), Unter den Linden 17, 10117 Berlin

A great email newsletter can help create the high-quality audience engagement that think tank communicators crave, but the pandemic has changed the email marketing landscape. Audiences are demanding more and better. How can we adapt?
Please join us for a discussion of your experiences, triumphs, and troubles with email marketing that will be kickstarted by ECFR’s Marlene Riedel. This is the first event of a new series that will bring together think tank communications professionals based in Berlin to discuss issues of common interest in an informal atmosphere.

Marlene will share the lessons learned from ECFR’s recent “email bootcamp” on European sovereignty, a mailing campaign to promote its European Sovereignty Index. Targeting national and EU policymakers, the bootcamp aimed to familiarize recipients with the different terrains of the Index and the concept of European sovereignty itself, encouraging them to use both the tool and research in their work.

Coffee, croissants, and comms – what could be a better start to your morning?

Speaker: Marlene Riedel, Communications Officer, European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR)

Moderator: Wiebke Ewering Head of Communications, German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP)

Please register for the meeting here by January 26, 2023.

And please forward this invitation to any friends and colleagues you think might be interested.

If you cannot join us for this session, don’t worry, there will be further WonkComms Breakfast Clubs hosted at other Berlin think tanks throughout the year. Please follow Think Tank Lab and WonkComms on Twitter for further announcements, and please feel free to get in touch to offer suggestions for future topics and speakers.
For any questions, please contact John Schwartz (john.schwartz@designbysoapbox.com) or the Think Tank Lab team (thinktanklab@dgap.org). We look forward to seeing you soon!

About WonkComms Breakfast Clubs: WonkComms is a global network of think tank communications professionals who share ideas and best practices. Our first event was held in the UK in 2013, and we have since expanded our activities to the United States, Latin America, and now to Germany. We organize informal events on subjects that are of practical interest to our community – including previous Breakfast Club series in London and Washington, DC. You can find us on Twitter and LinkedIn. The WonkComms Breakfast Club Berlin is organized by the Think Tank Lab and Soapbox.
