At our fourth #teamDiversity meeting, Grant Dalton from the Institute for Government (IfG), a nonpartisan think tank based in London, will present his recently published report Diversity and Inclusion in the Think Tank Sector. It looks at socioeconomic and ethnic diversity in think tanks and the civil service in the UK and provides recommendations on how to improve it. The report concludes that, in the UK, perceptions of that sector and some of its widely employed policies prevent it from recruiting diversely. Following Grant’s brief presentation, we will discuss possibilities for applying the report’s findings to think tanks outside the UK.
