Your Personal Foreign Policy Network

Welcome to the German Council on Foreign Relations, Germany’s foreign policy network.

DGAP membership offers ample opportunities for you to exchange views with foreign policy experts and officials from Germany and abroad. We host annually over 200 events from speeches and conferences to intimate fireside chats, all of which offer exclusive opportunities to make valuable contacts. Events are hosted not only in our Berlin headquarters, but also in our regional forums.

Many of DGAP’s over 2,500 members are well-known professionals, from government officials and active and former politicians, including former Chancellors, to renowned scholars and business leaders. Eminent media figures including publishers and editors of Germany’s leading print publications and prominent TV figures are also among DGAP’s members. Ursula Braun, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Karl Kaiser, Helmut Schmidt, and Richard von Weizsäcker are honorary members.
